Fruit Tree Care: An Introduction to Winter Pruning

February 22, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 3:30 pm

Do you want to learn how to manage healthy, beautiful and productive home fruit trees?  Timely pruning is essential for reducing disease and pest pressure while sculpting aesthetically pleasing landscape elements and increasing your flower and fruit yields!
Join us this February at the Chuckanut Center for our introduction to Winter fruit tree pruning with Jane Campbell.
Jane is an experienced local landscaper and farmer who specializes in ornamental and fruit tree pruning, including: training, maintaining and restoration.
This class will be the first in a three part tree care series at the Chuckanut Center: Winter Pruning, Spring pruning, and Summer Pruning.
Winter pruning will cover the theory and vocabulary of small scale pruning as well as introducing you to essential pruning tools and basic tool sharpening.
We will also do 3+ hours of hands-on practice working with the Chuckanut Center’s apple, pear, quince and fig trees.
Come prepared to learn outside rain or shine!  Please bring a brown bag lunch.

Limited number of reduced class fee possibilities for those in need. Please email us at chuckanutcenter@gmail.com with a brief explanation of your request and we’ll get back to you.
