Getting Started Gardening Basics, Summer Topics
At the July 15th Class we will discuss this and more:
-Progression planting, Harvest timing, growing Herbs etc
-Seed planting & spacing: Example: plant extra and eat the thinnings
Hands-on Activity: Harvest a rainbow of leafy greens for your own salad
-Old Capable Mindset. Simple knowledge brings Power
-Plant what you need, share what you have to spare
Wild crafting – salads and berries and Stinging Nettle fibers, oh my!
-Sharing among gardeners & neighbors
-Digging up late Volunteers to transplant, and taking cuttings for starts,
-Planning Fall/Winter Crops;
-Plant seeds in summer and/or transplant in early fall to eat in Winter and Spring
Two hour class includes lecture, Q&A, in-garden time, hands-on practice, demonstrations, examples, samples and references to take home. Bring writing materials. Dress for the weather. We will be getting our hands in the dirt! Let the explorations continue!
