We maintain a variety of gardens at Chuckanut Center

Demonstration Gardens are used by community gardeners and Chuckanut Center as an educational opportunity to present to the public.  These gardens provide plants that will be used in classes and workshops, medicinal plant preparations or demonstrate fun new plant varieties. They could also demonstrate low impact gardening techniques or methods.  They are made available to interested individuals, groups or organizations through a proposal process.  You may download a Demonstration Garden Proposal HERE.

Here is a list of demonstration gardens we have hosted in the past:
Leaf Cutter and Mason Bee Pollination Gardens and Bee Houses
Chinese Medicinal Herb Garden
Medicinal Herbscape Garden
School Garden Projects from Preschool through High School
Growing Hops, to be used by Stone’s Throw Brewery in their annual Community Hopped Brew

Community Garden Plots are for rent to individuals on a year round basis who wish to grow food organically. With various sizes, locations and styles, these eclectic garden beds are what make Chuckanut Center truly unique and there is one to suit everybody. Plots are available on a first come, first served basis. If you are interested in growing with us, please fill out this form and we will be in touch.

Our large Victory Garden is planted, maintained, harvested and delivered to those in need by a very dedicated volunteer with some help from other community gardeners. In 2018 we grew over 1,000# of fresh produce and donated it to the Southside Food Bank and the Lighthouse Mission.
